From the Classroom

I cannot believe we are almost done!  My little sugar bunnies are on their way to Kindergarten! Oh the things they have learned! We have been working on our numbers 1-20, identifying, writing and counting in Spanish.  They greet me every morning in Spanish. The children can recite 26 Alphabet poems!  They know the Lord’s prayer, various Bible verses and how to spell and or identify their classmate’s names.  They write their friends names every day!  They can also identify sight words.  The children love one another and most of all they love their Lord whom we pray to twice a day at school. Your kids are super cool!

Our Easter stories were sad, but we knew the endings would mend our hearts and instill faith in things we cannot see but things we feel.  We saw God in the prayers he answered when he cared for Lucy and Madison’s little brothers who recovered from serious surgeries.  We saw God in our butterflies.  How funny little caterpillars can stay hanging upside down for days and emerge into beautiful creatures that seemed to fly up into Heaven the day we released them. Metamorphose. That’s what my class is doing.  A few more weeks and it will be complete.  YOU will be the parents of a KINDERGARTENER!

We will be celebrating “Un-Birthdays” (summer birthdays) this month.  Fun Day is so exciting and of course our class graduation on Tuesday, May 30th at 6:30pm in the church.  More information will follow.

From the Director

It’s hard to believe there is only one month left in our school year. We have all had such a great time and our little ones have grown so much. We are not, however, ready to wrap up the year just yet, as we still have many great projects, our annual “Fun Day” & ‘Book Fair’, and the too, too precious graduation ceremonies!

As this is the last newsletter of the school year, I would like to add my thanks, along with the teachers, to all our wonderful families for your help and support this year. We have had wonderful turnouts for all the special events in the classrooms, as well as, our school and church programs.

You have also shown tremendous generosity during the year with your support of our pizza days, party supplies, food and special treats. All these small things add up to a big year of happy memories for your child and all of us. Lastly I want to say a special good-by to all our children and families here. It has been an honor and a blessing to be a part of your lives. You will always have a special place in my heart.

               God Bless, Mrs. Nielsen
